Here are some step-by-step instructions on sending a box
PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE: Used or damaged items, camouflage (it's illegal to wear in Grenada), war related items (toy guns, knives, etc), chocolate, out of date candy, liquids or lotions, breakable items (snowglobes or glass containers), aerosol cans, medications or vitamins.
As a reminder, it is very HOT in Grenada. Please don’t send anything that can be ruined by the heat during shipping (eg. melty candy, chap sticks, lotions, etc).
How to Pack a Box:
1. Grab an old, empty shoebox. If you don't have a shoebox, that's OK. Just make sure the contents of whatever you ship add up to about the size of a regular shoe box.
2. Sign up here! You can sign up for a child age 2-5, age 6-10 or 11 and above. Once you get to the sign up page, you can specify if your box should be for a boy, for a girl or if it is neutral enough to be for either! First come first serve.
3. Fill the box with a variety of small gifts that are age appropriate. We have a printable list of suggestions for you here that you can take to the store. PLEASE DO NOT SPEND MORE THAN $20.00 PER BOX! We want the contents of each box to be similar for every child.
4. Tape this label onto the box so that we can see it.
5. Send it away! Printable address labels are here. Just make sure it arrives BEFORE November 1.
**If putting together a box isn’t your thing but you still want to contribute, you can send a check and we will put together a box for a child. Make checks payable to Julie Connolly and add Operation Grenada Child in the memo line.
Love the project:-) I am so excited to do this with my children and hope this will be a good experience to reinforce that giving is the reason for the season.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ashley! We are so thankful for your giving heart. If you and your children would like to know any more about these amazing children and get to know them a little better, we would be happy to tell you as much as we can. Please feel free to have your kids write a letter to put in the box. They might just get one back ... So glad that we can brighten the holidays for you, your children and the Limes kids.
